Editing products

You can edit any product in your store after you create it. For example, when you want to change price, description, weight, or other product details. Saved changes take effect immediately in your online store and sync across all your sales channels.

You can choose to update products one by one or edit them in bulk using one of the tools available in your Sauecommerce store.

Editing products one by one

Editing products on their pages in the store admin allows you to update the full list of details. To edit product:

Using Bulk Product Editor

Sauecommerce’s Bulk Product Editor allows you to perform multiple changes to many products and product variations at a time. You can edit most product properties, including name, SKU, images, price, stock, shipping settings, categories, etc. Product info is presented in a tabular form which makes the mass editing process fast and easy and very similar to working in a spreadsheet.
You can also enhance your store with the Bulk Product Editor app from the Sauecommerce App Market which has additional editing options.

Using Mass Update for editing products

The Mass Update tool allows you to instantly update products along with their variations by applying the same change to all the selected items. For example, if you want to temporarily disable seasonable items or you want to raise prices by 5% to cover your expenses.

To update products with Mass Update:

  1. From your Sauecommerce admin, go to Catalog → Products.
  2. Tick all the products you want to update.
    You can click Filter in the upper left corner to use filters and make the search faster. For example, if you want to apply the change to a certain store category.
  3. Click Mass Update:

  4. In the dropdown menu, choose your option:

    Clicking Edit Selected will open the Bulk Product Editor.
  5. Make your changes.

The changes to all the selected products and their variations will be saved automatically.

Updating products with export and import

One more way to update several products at a time is by using export and import. You can export the products you want to change, edit their data in a spreadsheet, and then re-upload them to your store with import. The import tool allows you to save yourself a lot of time, and you don't need any advanced technical skills to use it.
